Bank of New Hampshire celebrates Prestige Plus Program’s 25th Anniversary in Africa!
Laconia, New Hampshire – October 30, 2015 – Bank of New Hampshire’s Prestige Plus members recently traveled to Kenya and Tanzania to participate in a once-in-a-lifetime safari adventure!
Highlights of this magnificent exploration included: Nairobi, Samburu/Shaba National Reserve, Fairmont Mt. Kenya Safari Club, Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara, Karen Blixen Home, Mt. Kilimanjaro, Ngorongoro Conservation Area – Serengeti National Park, Lake Manyara National Park and 12 Wildlife Safaris.
While on safari, Prestige Plus members enjoyed the stunning scenic vistas and outstanding wildlife of Kenya. It was here that they discovered the truly unique culture and experiences that make it one of the most popular African countries to visit.
Their safari began with an impressive game drive at Shaba Reserve, home to some of Africa’s most exotic wildlife. Bank of New Hampshire’s Prestige Plus members were also very impressed with the spectacular local bird life which includes over 350 species of birds are known to inhabit Shaba.
Two evenings were spent at the Fairmont Mt. Kenya Safari Club, a world-famous retreat in the shadow of Mt. Kenya. The resort staff shared its delightful history and beautiful grounds as they enjoyed its peaceful surroundings. It was once the private hunting lodge and retreat of actor William Holden.
The next stop was to the Masai Mara Game Reserve. The Masai Mara – an extension of the great Serengeti Plain – is considered the most stunning game viewing spot in all of Kenya: lions, giraffes, zebras, elephants and other wildlife reside here. The luxury tents provided all the deluxe amenities of a lodge, complete with the adventure of the wild. A visit to a Masai village prior to the game drive proved to be an interesting stop as they learned about the Masai culture. Prestige Plus members were treated to a special surprise, a traditional bush dinner featuring a Masai dance performance.
The African adventure brought them to Karen, on the outskirts of Nairobi, where they visited the farmhouse of Karen Blixen, author of the book “Out of Africa.”
Prestige Plus members enjoyed an afternoon game drive at Amboseli National Park, famous for its open plains where lions and elephants roam, and the breathtaking snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro dominates the landscape.
They then traveled to Tanzania and began their safari at the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest intact caldera in the world. Its enduring charm stems from its overwhelming beauty and the abundance of wildlife permanently residing on the crater floor.
The safari ended at Sererengeti National Park. This park undoubtedly has the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world and is known to have the greatest concentration of plains game anywhere.
