Bank of New Hampshire’s Prestige Plus Programs Celebrates 25 Years!

Laconia, New Hampshire – April 6, 2015 – Bank of New Hampshire recently thanked their Prestige Plus members for their loyalty and support throughout the years by hosting a 25-Year Anniversary party in their honor at Church Landing in Meredith, NH.

Following the celebratory luncheon, the bank surprised Prestige Plus members with a “Mystery Speaker,” Ernest Thompson. Thompson has won an Oscar, a Golden Globe, a Writers Guild Award and a Broadway Drama Guild Award for Best Play. His work has been nominated for a Tony, an Emmy and a British Academy Award. More than 35 of his plays have been seen in theatres around the world. The most enduring play, On Golden Pond was made into a movie and filmed in New Hampshire’s Lakes Region. Prestige Plus members were fascinated as he spoke about the history of his professional life.

Many prizes were won throughout the afternoon, with Mark Primeau, Bank of New Hampshire President and CEO, presenting Walter Premo, Jr. of Claremont with the grand prize, a $1,000 Prestige Plus travel voucher.

The bank’s highly successful Prestige Plus program began in 1989. Retired bank president Carroll Stafford, who initiated the program, stated “Bank of New Hampshire wanted to offer an innovative package to include financial benefits and travel-related services to their customers.  This type of program was relatively new to the banking industry, and Bank of New Hampshire was one of the first banks in NH to offer this kind of program.”  Mark Primeau, Bank of New Hampshire President & CEO added, “We are very proud of the success of Prestige Plus under Valerie Drouin’s leadership. For the past twenty-five years she has built a large and loyal following that has rewarded hundreds of members with memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.”

Valerie Drouin, Senior Vice President has managed the Prestige Plus Program since its inception, and has watched it grow to over 5,000 members. She states, “Fifty percent of our members have taken advantage of the travel benefits. In the past 25 years, we have offered 240 day trips around New England and 50 overnight extended trips throughout the U.S. and world.  Prestige Plus members also enjoy free seminars on topics such as identity theft and fraud, Facebook, iPad/iPhone, investing, estate planning, and computer/internet use. The travel component is one of the most popular benefits of the Prestige Plus program. Ninety-eight percent of the bank’s tours sell out on the day they are announced. However, many customers look forward to the financial benefits such as increased rates for the Prestige Money Market and Certificates of Deposit, free Prestige Plus checks, and much more.”

The Prestige Plus program has received national and statewide recognition throughout the past 25 years. Mrs. Drouin and the Prestige Plus program were featured in Bank Travel Magazine, a national magazine designed as a learning tool for Bank Travel Managers from around the country. Additionally, Mrs. Drouin also received statewide recognition when past Governor Lynch presented her with the 2008 New Hampshire Travel Council Special Recognition award. “The Prestige Plus program is the strongest bank travel program on the east coast, and one of the strongest in the nation,” stated Kevin Kramich, Executive Vice President of Sales at Collette Tour Company, who works directly with Bank of New Hampshire to customize their overnight extended trips. Mrs. Drouin recently shared her expertise as a featured speaker at Collette Tour’s prestigious President’s Club National Conference held in Jekyll Island, Georgia.
